This retreat, “Who is Saint Francis and What Does He Teach Us Today?” is based upon a recent book of Franciscan priest, Murray Bodo, OFM, titled Surrounded by Love (Seven Teachings from Saint Francis).

The seven teachings of St. Francis, plus one on love, the teaching behind all teachings, is a simple map for living and is why St. Francis is still admired today in our fractious and divided world. When we live these teachings the result is joy and union with God, who lives with us and within all of creation.

Sister Kathleen has been a Sister of St. Francis for over sixty years. Her ministry over most of that period was in education (from a junior high teacher to a superintendent of schools). Later, she became director of a retreat house, a facilitator of retreats and a certified spiritual director.

Currently, Sister Kathleen ministers as a spiritual director and as a retreat facilitator. She has served on the Board of Directors for Branches as vice-president since the time of its foundation.

This retreat was originally scheduled for July 13th, but we needed to engage our rain date of Tuesday July 20, 2021
